DEPRESSION
Do
you know that one of the leading causes for disability in
this country is depression? Maybe we wouldn't imagine that
to be so from looking at the treatment statistics. Many
who need help avoid seeking it on account of the stigma
attached to depression.
According to statistics 18.8 million people have a depressive
disorder in America.
Depression: 12% of the women
6.6% of the men.
Of those depressed persons, 80-90% who seek help significantly
improve!
So you may be wondering- what actually is depression?
Well depression is mostly known as a very low state
of being, which often includes feelings of hopelessness,
heaviness, sadness, fatigue and lethargy, etc. It is a state
that affects our emotions, including the mind, and body.
It is virtually the opposite of being peaceful and happy.
This may appear simple to comprehend however to a person
experiencing depression, the state is anything but simple,
and to overcome such depression often appears very overwhelming
to the victim.
Often we hear people talk about depression as a disease,
describing it as a biochemical imbalance in the brain that
has to be corrected with medication. That maybe partially
true, however I feel it is not completely true. Medication
I feel can help, however I would like to say I feel it is
only a part to overcoming the problem. In other words, it
is a small part of the picture, and there is no medications
on earth that can help people solve their problems. Medication
I feel only treats the symptoms and not the cause and this
is where Clinical Hypnotherapy can seek out the root cause
of the depression.
The conscious mind, only occupies a very small part of our
brain, and does not have the complete insight one needs.
The unconscious mind is our memory bank, just like a computer
has its memory bank we have the unconscious mind. The unconscious
mind is our own infinite source of wisdom, and therefore
we can use it to seek the real root cause of the depression
with the help of Clinical Hypnotherapy. It has many untapped
resources. It has all our memories, both good and bad, memories
of all those things that have happened to us and much more.
Such knowledge and information is available to us and is
easily tapped into. It can be tapped into with just a light
state of hypnosis and utilised to help in overcoming the
depression. We all go through highs and lows from time to
time and most of us we get on with life. However, we are
all different and in a depressed person, they often hang
onto the lows and forget the highs or they dwell in what
I call 'the negative mode.'
It is important in overcoming depression to look at both
ends of the imbalance and give these people the awareness
they need. We can do this with Clinical Hypnotherapy by
looking at the patterns that contributed to the original
cause and finding those memories that caused the imbalance
and rectifying the problem. In other words, we find the
root cause of the problem, namely the cause for the depression,
and then deal with it. I believe and feel that giving someone
just an anti depressant is only treating the symptoms and
not the cause! Or it can be said it is only a band-aid,
hence many people have to stay on anti-depressants for years.
Then what happens?
Remember, you need to treat the cause!
Clinical Hypnotherapy can complement
proper medical treatment.

PHOBIAS
Many
people never seek therapy to deal with Phobia fears and
often go through their entire life with those fears.
Often fears may exist in relative degrees of severity and
they often include fear of flying, fear heights, fear of
rejection, fear failure and even fear of success.
Fears are not always bad; sometimes, they can be valuable.
They can serve useful purposes. For example in cases of
driving they may cause the driver to be careful and cautious.
Such as instilling caution in driving, locking doors, or
being prepared for emergencies. However if that fear causes
the alteration of a normal lifestyle, by maybe creating
intense and sometimes irrational behaviour and such behaviour
possibly causing a threat to that person's safety or well
being it needs to be looked at.
